Profile & History
First established in 1952 for manufacture and countrywide distribution of apparel and haberdashery, "Cassims" commenced representing textile machinery manufacturers in 1969 as agents for the large Bentley Group of England in promoting hosiery technology.
The company has largely followed the evolution of the textile industry in Sri Lanka during these 60+ years and progressed to new industrial technologies during the past decade with a continued strong focus on solutions for the textile industry.
Since 1998 under the technological leadership of a dynamic and renewed team, the company has moved into exciting and new growth projects with industry. Providing consultancy leadership in the Sri Lankan textile industry, specifically in textile Knitting, Dyeing and finishing industries, as well as in the textile testing sector.
We work in close collaboration with both manufacturing partners in Sri Lanka that consult us for technology solutions, and with global technology partners that consult us for business and opportunities.
As Sri Lanka’s Textile Industry has sustained itself as the leading export in the country with almost 50% of Sri Lanka’s industrial exports generated through the industry, Cassims International has continued to support and work with technology partners to facilitate the business in Sri Lanka.
With the industry continuing to out-perform, the leadership, technology and process that we provide, continues to steer the industry into profitable new directions, evolving in to the manufacture of niche and high technology textile products.
As Sri Lanka’s industrial sector continues to evolve we provide solutions for industry in light fastness testing, & colour standardisation and controls. We also serve the IT industry in Server Room cooling and Air-Conditioning.
